The Parkers are going to Japan!

The Parkers are going to Japan!
Our family has a wonderful opportunity to go on a mission trip to Japan in the Spring of 2014.  My husband, who pastors First Church of God in Laurel, MS, received this opportunity through our church headquarters in Anderson, Indiana.
I have long been fascinated by Japan and have always dreamed of going.  As a homeschool mom and head of our children's ministry, I have had many opportunities to share my knowledge of places far and wide with young people.
Each year, I teach and support the Kid's Place adventures at the First Church of God's annual conference, where kids learn about many different countries and the mission work we do there.
Along with my duties associated with our church, I have also headed a multi-national learning program at the Laurel Library, coordinated Home Sprouts Learning Center for 2nd grade home schoolers, and am currently helping teach a Geography through Art course for students ages 6 - 12.  I have a passion for learning about other cultures, and I love sharing that passion with young people.
Our church is blessed to be able to help support the Van Dam family currently living and doing mission work in that country.  I am so excited to get to visit them and assist them in their work.
We'll be updating you on ways you can help us reach our savings goal to finance our trip and our plans to share what we learn upon our return.
Please stay tuned to this blog as we ready ourselves for the adventure ahead!
God bless you!
